Charles Cardell (1895–1977) was a key player in the early formation of contemporary Wicca. He spread his own tradition, which was different from Gerald Gardner’s Wicca and was called the Old Tradition.
Though frequently tense, Cardell had important relationships with other well-known witches, like Gerald Gardner and Doreen Valiente. In spite of these disagreements, he has made a significant contribution to the Wiccan community that will never fade, especially with his own rituals and vocabulary.
