Campbell “Scotty” Wilson

Campbell “Scotty” Wilson, also known as Loic, was a significant figure in the spread of Wicca in Scotland and beyond. He and his wife, Monique Wilson (Olwen), were initiated into the Craft by Charles Clark and went on to run the Perth Coven. Their influence extended internationally when they initiated Raymond Buckland, who later introduced Wicca to the United States.

Scotty’s life took a turn after meeting Monique, born in Vietnam to French parents, when he was an R.A.F. Flight Lieutenant stationed in Hong Kong following World War II. The couple moved to Perth, where Scotty worked for the local gas board. Their contributions to Wicca were not just limited to their coven activities; they were also involved in the management of Gerald Gardner’s Witchcraft Museum after his death. Monique, in particular, inherited the museum and ran it until the couple decided to sell most of its contents to Ripley’s in the USA and emigrated to Spain.
